Buhari’s Ex-aide Blasts Peter Obi for Deleting Tweet Calling Tinubu President

The Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has been condemned by the former President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad, for deleting a tweet where he described Bola Tinubu as Mr President.

Ahmad said he pities the Labour Party presidential candidate, describing his actions as childish and low because he can no longer control himself and his opinion.

Obi, who is challenging the declaration of Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, as the winner of the last presidential election, had condemned the 120-car convoy of the president when he returned from France, in a tweet.

He had tweeted: “Allegedly showing Mr President moving with about a 120-car convoy. While I have not had the opportunity of seeing the said video, my advice remains consistent – that sacrifices for a better Nigeria must start from the leaders at all levels of government.”

He later deleted the tweet and published a new one that substituted the ‘120-car convoy of ‘Mr President’ with ‘a trending motorcade video’.

Bashir, who condemned the action, wrote: “That was so low. I honestly pity Peter, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party; so he no longer has control over himself or an opinion of himself.

“How can you delete a well-composed tweet calling your president Mr. President just because some people claiming to be your supporters bullied and dragged you?”

  • Buhari’s Bombshell: Overconfidence Cost Atiku, Obi’s Presidential Election

Buhari’s Bombshell: Overconfidence Cost Atiku, Obi’s Presidential Election

President Muhammadu Buhari has given reasons why the opposition parties –PDP, LP and others lost the 2023 Presidential election to the  All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to a statement by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, Buhari spoke at the State House when he received the Progressives Governors’ Forum led by the Chairman, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State.

“They were already telling their foreign backers that they would defeat the APC. Our Party blended confidence with caution, we worked hard and won. Now, their over confidence is creating more problems for the opposition than anyone else. They are finding it hard to convince those who supported them from outside why they are unable to beat us.

“A combination of over confidence, complacency and bad tactical moves made them lose, plain and clear. This has created more problems in their camp. Why did they fail to remove us?” the President was quoted to have said.

In response to an issue raised by Bagudu, Buhari said: “An important reason I congratulate Asiwaju on winning is because the opposition got support and false hope from outside and went on to create the impression that they will win, that they will defeat us.”

“How more wrong could anyone be?” he asked.

The President charged the Progressive Governors to stick together and openly address issues among themselves.

“Try and keep solving problems. Be courageous to discuss them openly between yourselves. This is the best way to survive politically in Nigeria,” said the President, urging that “you (Governors) have a program to meet regularly and to discuss issues and how to maintain the Party nationwide.”

The Governors in attendance in addition to Kebbi were from Plateau, Imo, Kwara, Ekiti, Kaduna, Kogi, Lagos, Cross Rivers , Jigawa, Katsina, Ogun and Nasarawa States.

The Deputy Governors of Kano, Gombe, Borno and Ebonyi were in attendance, as well as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

  • In Akwa Ibom, APC Expels Buhari’s Former Aide, Ita Enang for Anti-Party Activities

In Akwa Ibom, APC Expels Buhari’s Former Aide, Ita Enang for Anti-Party Activities

A former Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters, Senator . Ita Enang, has been expelled by the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), over what it described as his anti-party activities.

But Enang in a swift reaction described the news of expulsion as fake and asked the APC members to ignore the news “and continue working with me and all other party leaders and members of the party for the success of the Party in all the elections.”

But the state party Chairman, Hon. Obong Leo Ntukekpo, insisted that the state Working Committee of the APC ratified recommendations of the party’s Disciplinary Committee regarding the expulsion of the former presidential aide.

According to the chairman, the expulsion of the presidential Enang was in pursuant to a petition detailing gross anti-party activities by the former legislator written and submitted to the state leadership of the party by his ward chairman in Eastern Ward 2, Ibiono Local Government Area of the state.

Enang in the letter was accused of holding clandestine meetings with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state with a view to undermining APC’s chances in the general election and had done so in defiance of the directives of the party.

SaharaReporters had reported that Enang had after the state governorship primaries, where Mr Obong Akan Udofia was declared the winner, approached several courts to disqualify him both in Abuja and Uyo.

However, the Court of Appeal in a landmark ruling recently affirmed Udofia as the valid candidate of the party for the March 11th governorship elections in Akwa Ibom State.

But Enang in a statement appealed to the APC members in Akwa Ibom to cooperate and work together for the success of the 30 January APC presidential rally in Uyo.

“We should please focus on mobilising for the rally and not be distracted by irrelevancies,” Enang said.

  • Buhari’s Impeachment Threat: PDP Senators’ Action Babyish, Says Presidency

Buhari’s Impeachment Threat: PDP Senators’ Action Babyish, Says Presidency

The Presidency has described as headline grabbing stunt, the decision of the opposition parties’ senators to stage a walkout during the plenary of the Senate on Wednesday.

The senators staged a walkout following the ruling out of order on a point of order raised by Minority leader Philip Aduda (PDP-FCT) to discuss insecurity in Nigeria.

Aduda had raised a point of order to draw the attention of President of Senate, Ahmad Lawan, to bring to the public discussions on issues of insecurity at a close session that lasted two hours.

The lawmakers were said to have decided to give President Muhammadu Buhari a six-week ultimatum to improve on the security situation or face impeachment.

However, when the order to that effect was raised by Aduda, Lawan intercepted, saying that it was against the Senate rule to bring up any matters of such without his prior consultation.

Lawan, thereafter ruled the minority leader out of order.

However, reacting to the plot to impeach the president, the Presidency said the action of the senators was “babyish.”

In a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, on Wednesday, the Presidency added that it was a mere stunt to grab headline.

    The statement reads in full:

DETERMINED TO BE IN THE HEADLINES, PDP SENATORS ARE DIVIDED, CONFUSED

The performative and babyish antics of those senators staging a walk out notwithstanding, Senate President Ahmad Lawan’s refusal on Wednesday to entertain the ridiculous motion to impeach our President was quite appropriate and correct.

Rather than making a mockery out of voters by trying to imitate what they see in America, the opposition would be well advised that their time would be better spent tackling the pressing issues Nigerians face, such as the current global cost of living crisis.

Their continued failure to do so goes some way to explaining why they remain in opposition.

In contrast, the President Muhammadu Buhari administration is committed to finding lasting solutions to the emerging security threats, including those left behind by the PDP in the South-South, the Northeast and throughout the federation. In the last 24 hours, two more Chibok girls were freed, in addition to the three brought home last week.

These kinds of headline grabbing stunts for which the opposition is now well known serve no one, least of all their constituents. We would respectfully remind them that it is those same constituents that they were elected to serve, and are paid to do so with public money.

We would welcome their collaboration in our efforts to solve the problems Nigerians face on a daily basis. No one is asking them to waste their time attempting to impeach a democratically elected President at the end of his second term – certainly not their constituents.

They should ask themselves: do they want to be in government or do they want to be in the headlines? If they want to be in government they should start acting like it and stop undermining Nigerian voters.

Presidential Guards Repel Attack on Buhari’s Advanced Team Convoy in Katsina

The Presidency has confirmed an attack on the convoy of cars carrying the Advance Team of security guards, protocol and media officers ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s trip to Daura in Katsina State for Sallah.

It described the shooting incident near Dutsinma, Katsina State as sad and unwelcome.

Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity), Garba Shehu, in a statement on Tuesday night stated that “the attackers opened fire on the convoy from ambush positions but were repelled by the military, police and DSS personnel accompanying the convoy.

“Two persons in the convoy are receiving treatment for the minor injuries they suffered. All the other personnel, staff and vehicles made it safely to Daura.”

  • Buhari’s Supporters Blast PDP Chairman, Ayu, after Secretly Returning N405m Loot

Buhari’s Supporters Blast PDP Chairman, Ayu, after Secretly Returning N405m Loot

President Muhammadu Buhari’s supporters, under the auspices of Buhari Media Organisation (BMO), have lambasted the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, for returning N405m loot as a plea bargain recently.

The BMO describes the former Senate President as one of those who undermined military efforts against terrorists and criminal elements in Nigeria.

According to the group,  Ayu quietly returned public funds he received from the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, only after the anti-graft agency sealed his property.

In a statement co-signed by its Chairman and Secretary Niyi Akinsiju and Cassidy Madueke, the body said returning the loot confirmed their position that Ayu was a major beneficiary of the PDP-era massive looting of the national treasury.

“Our attention has just been drawn to the surreptitious return of stolen funds amounting to N405m by no other than the leader of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

“The funds were said to have been returned a few months ago after authorities seized a mansion belonging to the former Senate President, but as soon as he paid up, the property was said to have been returned to him,” the group stated.

The BMO said had President Buhari not won election in 2015, the looter would have gone unpunished.

It added: “If President Muhammadu Buhari had not been elected President in 2015, no one would have known and the former Minister would have practically escaped with his loot unpunished.

“This is the PDP legacy so it is not a surprise that a man caught with stolen funds is today at the helm of affairs of that party.”

BMO further argued that such looting and its returning should have disqualified Ayu from leading a party.

“In saner climes, he would have been removed from office, but knowing the gathering that PDP is, Ayu earned his stripes because only a politician that is adept at illegally feeding on public funds could lead such a group with the notoriety the former ruling party has.”

“So it beggars belief to hear the PDP chairman and his colleagues pontificating about security challenges that they laid the foundation for in the manner they looted funds meant to boost the operational readiness of our security personnel,” the group noted.

It added that Ayu’s antecedent as a beneficiary of looted public funds is enough qualification for him to lead the PDP.

“We maintain that the main opposition party is currently headed by an individual who crookedly benefited from funds meant for arms procurement.

“We make bold to say that this is what the former ruling party stood for and which its members have missed in the last seven years that President Muhammadu Buhari had been in the saddle.”

BMO, therefore, urged Nigerians to be wary when people like Ayu speaks on security challenges in some parts of the country, knowing that he is one of those whose activities denied the military of necessary infrastructure support against terrorists and criminal elements.

  • Senate Approves Buhari’s Request N4trn Fuel Subsidy Increase

Senate Approves Buhari’s Request N4trn Fuel Subsidy Increase

The Senate has approved President Muhammadu Buhari’s request to increase fuel subsidy payments in 2022 to N4 trillion from N442.72 billion.

The legislators made the approval on Thursday after considering the report of the Committee on Finance on the Revised 2022 Fiscal Framework.

The Senate also approved the President’s request to raise the oil price benchmark from $62 to $73 and the reduction of projected oil production volume from 1.883 million to 1.6 million barrels per day.

Other recommendations of the committee adopted by the Senate include a cut in the provision for Federally Funded upstream projects being implemented by N200 billion from N352.80 and an increase in the Federal Government Independent Revenue of N400 billion.

The Senate also approved an additional provision of N182.45 billion to cater for the needs of the Nigeria Police Force.

Also approved were Domestic debt service provision of N76.13 billion, and net reductions in Statutory Transfers by N66.07 billion, as follows:

    a. NDDC, by N13.46 billion from N102.78 billion to N89.32 billion;

    b. NEDC, by N6.30 billion from N48.08 billion to N41.78 billion;

    c. UBEC, by N23.16 billion from N112.29 billion to N89.13 billion;

    d. Basic Health Care Fund, by N11.58 billion from N56.14 billion to N44.56 billion; and

    e. NASENI, by N11.58 billion from N56.14 billion to N44.56 billion.

The Fiscal Deficit of N7.35 trillion in the 2022 budget was also approved.

Subsequently, the Senate passed the 2022 Appropriation Act (Amendment) Bill.

“Congratulations for working so hard to ensure that we pass the 2022 Appropriation Act,” Senate President Ahmed Lawan said.

“The entire country is waiting for this Bill to be passed because this is the only way the government will provide services to the people of this country.

“We expect compliance with this Act when it is signed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Ministries, Departments and Agencies should only carry out expenditures that has been approved in the Budget.”

In a letter dated April 5, 2022 and read on the Senate floor on Tuesday, President Buhari said a review of the 2022 fiscal framework had become necessary due to new developments, including the Russia-Ukraine war.

The increase in fuel subsidy payments, he noted, was due to the suspension of fuel subsidy removal after concerns were raised by organised labour.

“As you are aware, there have been new developments both in the global economy as well as in the domestic economy which have necessitated the revision of the 2022 Fiscal Framework on which the 2022 Budget was based,” the President said.

“These developments include spikes in the market price of crude oil, aggravated by the Russian-Ukraine war, significantly lower oil production volume due principally to production shut-ins as a result of massive theft of crude oil between the production platforms and the terminals.

“The decision to suspend the removal of Petroleum Motor Spirit subsidy at a time when high crude oil prices have elevated the subsidy cost and has significantly eroded government revenues.”

  • Buhari’s Statement on Nnamdi Kanu Unfortunate –Ohanaeze

Buhari’s Statement on Nnamdi Kanu Unfortunate –Ohanaeze

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndig bo, has said it plans to visit and have a meeting early 2022 with President Muhammadu Buhari over his statement that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu must face the consequences of his actions in the court of law.

The President, during an interview with Channels Television on Wednesday evening said Kanu would not be released but must face the wrath of the law.

The President said there was possibility of political solution for the pro-Biafra separatist leader, but he would not interfere with the judiciary.

“So, we are giving him an opportunity to defend himself in our system, not to be abusing us from Europe as if he was not a Nigerian. Let him come here with us and then criticise us here. Nigerians know that I don’t interfere with the judiciary, let him be listened to. But those who are saying that he should be released, no, we cannot release him,” Buhari had said.

In reaction, Ohanaeze insisted on a political solution to Kanu’s issue.

It would be recalled Igbo leaders under the aegis of Highly Respected Igbo Greats had appealed to Buhari to ensure the release of Kanu.

This was during their visit to the President in Aso Rock last November.

At the time, Buhari had told the Igbo leaders that he would consider their request, although it was a tough demand.

Based on his hostile response last night over IPOB leader’s matter, Ohanaeze said there would be another meeting with the President.

Ohanaeze spokesman, Alex Ogbonnia, stated this while reacting to the President’s interview on political solution in releasing Kanu, PoliticsNigeria reports.

Ogbonnia said: “Ohanaeze’s position is very clear and constant. We have looked at the whole scenario and we are convinced that Nnamdi Kanu’s case and IPOB can only be solved through a political solution. It is unfortunate that the Presidency or the president hasn’t appreciated the Ohanaeze position and by extension the Igbo position or the Igbo leadership position on this matter. But we are very confident that by time we will meet him early this year he will understand it more.”

Kanu was arrested in Kenya and brought back to Nigeria in June, which was in violation of international laws by United Nations Charter which Nigeria is signatory, according to the claims by his lawyers.

He has appeared before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja, a couple of times, and he is being detained by the Department of State Services.

His next appearance in court has been scheduled for January 18 in Abuja.

  • Buhari’s 2021 Christmas Message to Nigerians

Buhari’s 2021 Christmas Message to Nigerians

I rejoice with Christians in Nigeria as they join fellow believers all over the world to celebrate this season.

It is a special period that brings peoples of the world together with one purpose; to celebrate togetherness, joy, peace, and above all, to share love with one another through exchange of goodwill and gifts.

For the second Christmas running, the world will not be able to celebrate as we used to in years past.

The COVID-19 pandemic, with its attendant debilitating impact, has remained with mankind, mutating and leaving in its wake devastating consequences on the economy, social interaction, and curtailing certain freedoms.

The silver lining, however, is that humanity has been able to rise up with one voice and purpose, to confront the foisted conditions.

I want to use this opportunity to appeal to our dear citizens to embrace vaccination, which is the best scientifically known bulwark against the pandemic.

Recent events have shown that vaccination greatly reduces the effects of the virus on the human body.

I will also urge those that have taken the two doses to go ahead and take the booster as advised by the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC).

I commend the efforts of members of the PSC under the headship of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation as they continue to chart a roadmap out of the pandemic and associated issues.

On security, despite the remarkable successes generally recorded, we still have some challenges.

Our courageous security forces, bolstered by the necessary support from this administration, daily confront the wicked ones amongst us, who continue to threaten the peace of the land.

Recently, during the meeting with fellow Heads of State of the ECOWAS, I discussed the need to intensify efforts to jointly confront this menace causing instability in our sub-region.

I am confident that with the renewed commitment and empowerment of our committed security personnel, all these issues which inflict pain and trauma on us will soon be history.

Let us utilize the opportunity that this festive period brings to encourage ourselves so that the machinations of the wicked ones in our midst will find no place to thrive.

Christmas is a season when hope is rekindled. Hope, Peace, Joy, Love are the recurring themes of this time.

It is in the midst of hardship that the true test of a nation emerges.

I urge Nigerians to invoke the indomitable spirit in us and see the present order of things as a phase that will also pass, just like other unsavory situations in the nation’s history.

This government will not abandon the promises made to Nigerians for a better lease of life.

The diversification of the economy embarked upon is yielding fruits.

We shall continue to create opportunities for our teeming youths to ventilate their tremendous energy.

As we felicitate with family, friends, colleagues, associates, let us spare moments to reach out to the less privileged.

Let us also pray and give words of encouragement to our gallant security personnel fulfilling their oaths to keep us safe.

I assure my compatriots that this administration remains resolute at ensuring that the standard of living of the average Nigerian is elevated.

On this note, I wish Nigerians Merry Christmas!

  • God Shows Tinubu to Me As Buhari’s Successor, 91-year-old Declares

God Shows Tinubu to Me As Buhari’s Successor, 91-year-old Declares

A 91-year-old based in Akure, Pa Raphael Aina Okeowo, says God  has revealed to him in a dream that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

Pa Okeowo said he is neither a prophet nor a Minister of God but that his dreams have never failed.

Hear him: “I hardly dream but whenever I dream, my dream always comes true.

“I am not a politician and not seeking any attention, but I just wish to reveal this dream to Nigerians so they can know what God has in plan for them.

“I was sleeping when suddenly some people gathered on a bed beside my bed and put their heads together discussing something which I didn’t hear. They all wore same Ankara cloth.

“Shortly after they had discussed, I heard them say let’s give it to Tinubu. And they all agreed that it’s Tinubu they will give it to.

“I then woke up. The whole thing was less than a minute. But what matters is the fact that whenever I dream of things like this, they come to pass.

“Though I am Christian, not a prophet. I got baptised at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Akure when I was still young and single. I was baptised by Rev. Father Oguntuyi. But I now attend C.A.C Bethel that’s very close to my residence here.”

“You will see that when they do the convention, Tinubu will win. He will be the next president of Nigeria. When my dream comes to pass, they will remember me.”

He also explained why he wants God to take his life before his next birthday in May 2022.

Pa Okeowo said his wish for death was because the world is full of wicked people.

Okeowo, who spoke with journalists in Akure, said it was God that saved him from being killed earlier in life.

His words: “If not for the help of God, I would have been killed. I want Jesus to take me away on my next birthday. I am praying for this because this world is wicked.”

Pa Okeowo however said he wants to be remembered if his wish comes to pass he told Nigerians that God revealed to him that National Leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would win the 2023 presidential election.

The nonagenarian said God gave him the revelation in a dream which he has decided to share to the world in case his wish comes to pass.
