Tinubu Swears in 2 New Ministers to replace APC Chairman, Yilwatda, and disgraced Uche Nnaji
President Bola Tinubu, Thursday, swore in two newly appointed ministers, as a prelude to a crucial meeting of the Federal Executive Council.
The new kids on the bloc are: Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro and Mr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, who have been appointed to replace former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, who was appointed as the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and Uche Nnaji, who resigned as Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology over a salacious certificate forgery scandal.
The new Ministers took the oath of office at a brief ceremony held inside the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, before the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
The Senate confirmed Doro’s appointment last month, and Udeh’s during last Thursday’s plenary.
Doro is a pharmacist and lawyer from Plateau State, same state as Yilwatda, while Udeh is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) from Enugu State.
Until his appointment as Minister, Udeh had served as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State.
The FEC meeting began shortly after the swearing in of the two new Ministers with the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, presenting a report on the state of the economy.
Aside Ministers and Special Advisers, the meeting was also attended by the Secretary to the Government of the Federal (SGF), Senator George Akume; the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Esther Didi Walson-Jack; Chief of Staff to the President, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; and other members of Council.
