There were reports by the close of work on Thursday that Babachir Lawal, deposed Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, may have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Though efforts to get clarification from Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesman, were futile as his lines were off. If truly he had been taken in by the EFCC and had not been allowed to go home Thursday, then, he may have to spend the Eid el fitri with the anti-graft body.
This is coming few days after The Crest published an exclusive report about the decision of the presidency to give a go-ahead for the trial of Lawal and Ayo Oke, the erstwhile Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, on allegations of corruption.
