PDP Rejects Ekiti Guber Result

…Says: It’s electoral banditry

Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has roundly rejected the outcome of Saturday’s gubernatorial poll in Ekiti State, describing it as an “electoral banditry”.

The party made its position on the poll known via a press conference in Abuja, on Sunday. The press parley was addressed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, who said: “This electoral banditry cannot stand and the PDP is already collating results and evidences and will make known the next step towards reclaiming our mandate in Ekiti State.”

The party said it has enough evidence to prove that its candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka, won the vote. The party premised its confidence on details of results at polling units which, it said, show its candidate as the clear winner.

Apart from the results at polling units, PDP also said it has evidences of how its accredited agents were chased away by security agents to facilitate alleged falsification of results.

It also accused the victorious All Progressives Congress, APC, of colluding with security agents and INEC officials to manipulate results in favour of the declared winner, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
