Ekeremadu released by the EFCC

Ike Ekeremadu , deputy Senate president who reported at the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Tuesday in Abuja has been released. He was granted administrative bail after being questioned by officials of the commission .
The senator is being investigated for alleged money laundering and his likely property abroad.
His residence was under siege by security officials last Tuesday July 26, same day Bukola Saraki, Senate president had a similar experience. Meanwhile, Saraki was expected to answer an invitation by the police by 8:00 am that day. The police later claimed that it was not responsible for either action. Rather, it said that while Saraki was blocked by his own convoy, Ekeremadu played host to operatives of EFCC.
The Deputy Senate president said then that he had not received any invitation from the anti graft agency. The invitation came later and he was at the EFCC office to answer the questions.
By the time he emerged from the office of the EFCC on Tuesday evening he was greeted with news of Saraki’s defection.
Both leaders of the Senate can now hold political meetings openly, as yet again members of the same party.
