Sule Lamido, a former Governor of Jigawa State, on Monday 6 August 2018 called on former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta. He told journalsits who accosted him at Obasanjo’s Presidential Library that he was in Abeokuta to ask for Obasanjo’s blessing and support for his his (Lamido’s) presidential ambition for 2019.
In his words: “In Nigeria, when they say who is Baba’s son? They say it is Sule Lamido and as a result of this, I have only come to my father to seek his guidance, talk about Nigeria and tap from his wisdom about Nigeria.”
Journalists sought his reaction to the gale of defections in the land. Lamido replied: “In a political party what you need is followership and when people are coming into your own party, you should be happy and even celebrate.”
