Osun Election: Saraki Leads Dogara, Tambuwal, PDP Protest at INEC

Almost two weeks after the Osun State gubernatorial election result was declared won by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola,  leaders of the main opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP, on Friday, staged a peaceful protest at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Abuja.

The protesters, led by the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and a couple of PDP presidential hopeful in the 2019 general election eloquently demanded  the cancellation of the September 27  re-run governorship election in Osun State and the declaration of the PDP candidate, Ademola Adeleke, as winner.

Adeleke lost to Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress in the Osun gubernatorial election after a controversial rerun in seven polling units.

Aside Senate President, others at the Friday protest included Speaker of the Hosue of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal and a host of others who arrived the INEC headquarters in a rickety pick-up van.
