#EndSARS: Police Disperse Protesters With Teargas In Abuja
The police have fired teargas canisters at hundreds of youth who converged on the force headquarters to protest brutality and intimidation by the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).
The protesters had stormed the police headquarters on Saturday, demanding to meet with Mohammed Adamu, the inspector-general of police.
They had vowed to spend the night there, refusing to listen to the plea of the officers who addressed them.
The protesters had brought foods and drinks in preparation for the overnight activity.
But they scuttled to safety as soon as the police released teargas canisters.
Some of them were reportedly arrested and manhandled by the officers.
