Thursday 10th January will be remembered as a day Senator Victor Umeh waged into the lingering dissidence by some members of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) towards the party’s leadership as a fall-out of the recently conducted party primary elections.
Umeh who previously led the party as its national chairman for over ten years however regretted the circumstance by which some aspirants were unfairly shortchanged as alleged and urged them to sheath their swords for the interest of the party promising to further intervene in necessary ways to ameliorate their condition.
Umeh emphazied that the coming general election is strategic for the survival of the party and must be supported by every member to achieve anticipated victory. He noted that APGA remains the best party in the governance of Anambra state and should be expanded to reflect in other states particularly in the South East. He therefore urged them to drop their grievances and work for the success of the party ahead of the coming elections pointing out that opportunities abound in future.
On their part, the members disbanded the Association of APGA Aggrieved Members with assurances that they were no longer aggrieved. They pledged to work in the interest of the party particularly to ensure that the dynamic and reliable Senator Victor Umeh is reelected to continue the good work he is doing in the Senate.
They described him as the father and political grandmaster in the party, thereby appealed to him to lend his dependable voice and wisdom in salvaging their situation in the party.
