Protesters Storm Lagos Assembly, Warn Lawmakers Against Ambode’s Impeachment
Lagos State House of Assembly welcomed unusual visitors Wednesday morning as thousands of protesters stormed the House, warning the lawmakers to immediately shelve any plan to impeach the State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode. The protesters also warned that the lawmakers may have to contend with all Lagosians if they continue with the threat.
The lawmakers had on Monday night threatened to remove the governor over sundry allegations ranging from anti-party antics to improper funding of the All Progressive Congress campaign in Lagos State.
The protesters stormed the house warning of dire consequences if the governor is removed under any guise.
Ambode lost his bid to get a reelection ticket in Lagos after the party moved against him accusing him of not reaching out to the party’s hierarchy.
