Chief Donatus Nwankpa, the Abia State All Progressives Congress chairman in Abia State, who was kidnapped Monday night on his way to Aba, has been released by his abductors.
Also released was Nwankpa’s aide who reportedly sustained some injuries. Their abduction came few hours to the campaign rally of President Muhammadu Buhari in Umuaiah.
The Publicity Secretary of the Party in the state, Mr. Benedict Godson, confirmed, on Friday, that Nwampka and his aide regained their freedom on Thursday night.
Godson said the APC boss was in excellent health and that no ransom was paid to secure their release.
