Flying Eagles Qualify For FIFA U-20 World Cup

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria survived a very difficult game against hosts Niger Republic
to qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland after securing a 1-0 victory in the CAF U -20 Nations Cup.
The Nigerians moved into the semi final of Niger 2019, where they would on Wednesday face either Mali or Ghana after beating Burundi in the opening match and a draw against South Africa in the second match.
The Paul Aigbogun-tutored side did everything to frustrate the hosts who were poised not to disappoint at home. But the Flying Eagles had to wait till  the 73rd minute before Ibrahim Alhassan made victory possible for Nigeria with a super  strike from a well taken free kick.

The hosts had before the goal dominated play as they fancied their chances of going through with a win. But Nigerian boys, in dire need of a victory or draw, gave their all to nip a win.

The Flying Eagles qualified for Poland alongside South Africa which secured a 1-0 victory over Burundi. Senegal was the first country to land in Poland.
