A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management and the Institute of Training & Development, he is a 2006 CIPM Merit Award winner for his outstanding contributions to the development and professionalism of the HR profession in Nigeria. Segun is a thorough-bred licensed global Human Resource & Learning practitioner with about 30 years multi-sectoral experiences and areas of core competency in Strategy & Execution, Restructuring, Right-sizing & Corporate Excellence, Leadership, Learning Evaluation & Knowledge Transfer, Team-bonding:::Team-working & Team-leading, Extra-Legendary Customer Service & Service Excellence.

Segun started his professional HR career as Personnel Officer/Management Trainee at BAGCO, after his postgraduate studies and the mandatory Internship programme in 1988. He held the Industrial Relations portfolio of the company for four years before leaving for the Banking Industry as Senior Manager (Human Resource), Owena Bank Plc in 1993. In 1995, he was appointed Senior Associate (and later COO in acting capacity), BezaleelConsulting. He joined Wema Bank Plc in 2001 as Senior Manager (HR) and later became the Bank’s Head of Training in 2002 where he led the team that creatively initiated the first entry-level/Graduate Trainees’ programme in the then sixty-something year-old bank. In 2004, Segun joined Vmobile Nigeria (now Airtel) as HOD; Talent Development & Learning until 2009.

Segun is a consummate people manager, facilitator/trainer, strategist, an avid reader and knowledge seeker, a newspaper columnist, an enthusiastic investor, and a service excellence consultant. He is a Centre for Management Development (CMD) certified trainer/consultant, a certified New World Kirkpatrick Training Effectiveness Evaluator, member of the International Customer Management Institute and a Certified Service Excellence Facilitator. He is an accredited KOLBE and MBTI consultant/user and a certified Assessment/Development Centre professional. He has attended several training, seminars, and conferences at Ivy League institutions home and abroad. Segun is also a member of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) formerly American Society for Training & Development (ASTD).

Segun is a 1985 graduate of Political Science from the University of Lagos and holds a M.Sc. Industrial Relations and Personnel Management (1988) from the same University. He is a Deacon in the Pentecostal movement with special ministry to the young ones and the family. He is married to Molara Mojeed and they are blessed with beautiful Godly children biologically and spiritually. His hobbies include swimming, fishing, football, golf and writing.
