President Muhammadu Buhari cast his vote at about 8.09 a.m. in Daura, Katsina State.
An upbeat Buhari, and his wife, Aisha, exercised their franchise within minutes of their arrival at their Sarkin Yara polling unit.
He told reporters that he was satisfied with the progress of the process so far, declaring it has been so smooth.
Asked if he would congratulate his opponent at the election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, presidential flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, if he lost to him, the president said he would congratulate himself because he was sure he would win.
