If the words of the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, are to be held sacrosanct, then Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora, may know their new president tonight.
Adjourning announcement of results at about 7p.m. local time, this Tuesday, to 8.30 p.m., at the national collation centre in Abuja, the INEC boss assured the nation that “all the remaining results will be announced tonight.”
But he never said anything about formal declaration of the eventual winner.
