The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Olagunju Ojo, who confirmed the development, said he was, however, informed through a letter.
“I am not aware that he has been taken to Abuja, The Nation newspaper quoted Ojo as saying. “I am only aware that he is under investigations but I am not aware whether he has been taken to Abuja or not.”
The paper also reported that the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi, a Superintendent of Police, SP, denied knowledge of Akinmoyede’s arrest.

The late Olatoye was shot in the eye after the governorship and House of Assembly elections of Saturday, March 9, 2019. He died at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, shortly after. He ran for senate and lost on February 23.
Akinmoyede’s arrest brought the number of those held in connection with the gruesome murder to two.
