Amnesty International Is Like IPOB as Buhari’s Aide Calls for Investigation

Amnesty International’s tacit support for the RevolutionNow movement being convened by former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has drawn the ire of the Nigerian presidency as President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on Social Media matters, Lauretta Onochie, has called on the international body of the human rights organization to investigate its subsidiary in Nigeria.

The movement as declared August 5 for the commencement of the revolution protest tagged ‘Days of Rage’ across the country to demand a better Nigeria.

Onochie, in a tweet on Thursday, alleged that Amnesty International Nigeria has the same agenda with separatist group, the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).

She made reference to a tweet by Amnesty International Nigeria, which called for revolution, “a movement of Nigerian youths committed to fighting for freedom and just in exercise of right to freedom of expression and freedom of association.”

On the call, Onochie said: “Amnesty International needs to investigate the relationship between IPOB, a proscribed terrorist organisation and Amnesty Nigeria @AmnestyNigeria.

“It’s time for them to review the activities of those who claim to represent them in Nigeria. They have similar agenda as IPOB.”
