In a rather melancholic tone Nigerian  pop star, David Adeleke, popularly called Davido has expressed optimism that the true change will come as he reacts to the presidential results being reeled out at INEC collation center in Abuja.

Davido who could not vote on Saturday due to an event in South Africa, posted on his official Twitter handle : ‘We all tried, hopefully one day, real change will come’.

He is one of the very few vocal celebrities urging young people to go out and vote during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke, lost his seat in the Senate to APC’s Engr. Lere Oriolowo, in Osun West Senatorial District election.

Adeleke was not on the ballot box because he contested in the last governorship election in the state.

According to INEC, Engr Oriolowo polled a total of 102,147 votes to defeat the PDP candidate, Lere Oyewumi who scored 97,294 votes. Prince Dotun Babayemi of the African Democratic Party (ADP), came third with 42,915.
