#EndSARS: Protests Cripple Commercial Activities in Owerri
The ongoing protests across the country, on Monday, took a hold of Imo capital, Owerri, as demonstrations embarked upon by #EndSARS protesters in the state put a halt on commercial activities in the city
The protesters were seen in their numbers around Warehouse Junction in Owerri, carrying placards displaying their agitations while also chanting anti-government songs.
with barricades strategically positioned, the protesters blocked the roads, leaving hundreds of motorists stranded while some turned the roads to football fields.
They pledged not to leave the roads till decisive decisions on police brutality and harassment were taken by the government.
Similarly, some protesters blocked the Naze Junction main road leading to the Sam Mbakwe Airport.
The demonstrators lamented the poor state of the road leading to the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede as well as the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.
