The recent spate of killings in the southwest, seems not to be relenting as unknown gunmen on Friday shot dead a police officer in Ekiti State and abducted an expatriate.
Another expatriate is also said to have sustained a gunshot wound.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Sunday Abutu confirmed that the incident took place earlier this evening along an inter-town road under construction in Ado Ekiti the state capital.
He said the police have set investigations in motion and are on the trail of the killers, to ensure that evil men are brought to justice, while also ensuring that the expatriate abducted is rescued.
