Giant killer Squirrels of Benin Republic on Friday shocked highly rated Atlas Lions of Morocco out of the 2019 Nations Cup in Egypt.
Mama scored the fourth penalty in the shootout to send Benin through to the quarter-finals in style.
What a game of football this was! Moroccans players were devastated and thousands of their supporters in the stand could not believe what they just witnessed as the Squirrel stunned the Lions.
Khaled Adenon of Benin was red-carded just seven minutes into extra time but the Squirrels held on to end the game in a 1-1 stalemate.
Benin have lost their last three games against Morocco by an aggregate score of 13-2 but they look much improved at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The Squirrels were unbeaten during the pool stage, drawing with perennial powerhouses Ghana and Cameroon.
Morocco went into this tournament as one of the fancied nations to go all the way and have been cut to 6/1 third-favourites for outright glory following a trio of 1-0 triumphs in Group D.
They needed an 89th-minute own-goal to get past Namibia and only just edged out South Africa via a stoppage-time strike from Mbark Boussoufa.
Benin drew the first blood in the 53rd minute with a superb goal from Moise Adelehou while Morocco levelled in 75th minute through Youssef En-Nesyri.
