COZA rape scandal: Busola drags Pastor Fatoyinbo to the police
Biodun Dakolo, mother of three and wife of inspirational singer, Timi Dakolo, has taken a giant step to seek redress for her alleged rape by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, the embattled founder and senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, Abuja.
Fatoyinbo, who has since stepped aside as COZA pastor, hit the headlines for the wrong reasons, last week Thursday, when Mrs. Dakolo revealed in an emotional interview with Chude Jideonwo, a lawyer and journalist on YNaija channel, that the funky preacher raped her as a teenager.
Now, the scandal is far from blowing off as Busola has filed a formal complaint with the police.
Though the public relations officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Bala Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, could not confirm, Thursday night, when and where Mrs. Dakolo filed the complaint, the distraught woman said she took the action to provoke police investigation.
Busola set the social media on fire, Thursday, last week, when her emotional interview with YNaija channel was released, sparking national outrage.
When the story broke, Fatoyinbo tried to puncture it. He took to his Instagram page, @biodunfatoyinbo, to rubbish the allegation, saying his traducers were merely trying to pull him down and destroy his church.
“I have never in my life raped anybody even as an unbeliever,” he declared in the Instagram statement, “and I am absolutely innocent of this.”
But rather than the storm disappearing with that rebuttal like it did in 2013 when the ‘Gucci Pastor’ (as he is called because of his flamboyant life style) was embroiled in an infidelity scandal with a former COZA member, named Ese Walter, the current storm continues to roil and swirl.
And not even Pastor Fatoyinbo call tell where and when the matter would end.
