Gulak: Wike Slams Uzodinma Over ‘political assassination’ Comment

Rivers State Governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike, reacted to the declaration, Monday, by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, that the callous murder of   APC stalwart, Ahmed Gulak was “a clear case of political assassination.”

The Imo State Governor made the statement in a statewide broadcast on Monday.

But hardly had Uzodinma finished the broadcast that Wike, in an interview with Channels Television, came hard on the Imo Governor, declaring that his classification of Gulak’s murder as “political assassination” was hasty, adding that the Imo Governor ought to have waited for the police to do their job before making any pronouncement.

Wike, who made the reaction while appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, said the Imo Governor should have been patient and allow the relevant security agencies do their work.

Wike’s words: “I think that the governor of Imo State, my brother Hope Uzodinma should allow the security agencies to do their proper investigation for it is too early now for him to come out to say it is a political assassination.

“Having done that, it means that you already know those who committed the crime and that will not be fair. When things of this nature happen, allow the security agencies to really go into the matter and then say look, from our investigations, this is what we found out.”
