Killing of Fasoranti’s daughter: police arrest suspects

The Ondo State Police Command, Monday, said it had arrested some suspects in last Friday’s murder of Mrs. Funke Olakunri, second daughter of Afenifere leader, Chief Rueben Fasoranti.
Femi Joseph, the command’s spokesperson, disclosed this to journalists in Akure, the Ondo State capital, but did not reveal the number of those in the net, nor their identities. He cited security reasons for keeping the suspects’ identities under wrap.
He said the suspects were apprehended by detectives who combed the forest along the Lagos-Ore axis for.
“We have made a lot of arrest on this matter,”” Joseph said, “but we are doing the screening of those arrested to know who among them the culprits are.
“By the time we finish the screening, we will let the world know the perpetrators. As I said, a number of people have been arrested and when it is time we shall parade the suspects.”
In the time being, the Deji of Akure land, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, has urged both federal and state governments to speedily curb the murderous activities of marauding herdsmen to prevent Nigerians from resorting to self-help.
