IHDA Felicitates With General Bajowa (Rtd) At 80
The Ikale Heritage Development Association, IHDA, has congratulated General Olu Bajowa (rtd) as he turns 80 today.
In a goodwill message from the IHDA, Chairman of the group, Otunba Sola Olatunji described the Jagunmolu of Ikaleland who retired from the army at the age of 40 as a man of immense capability and worthy Ikale son whose life has been exemplary and worthy of emulation.
Geheral Bajowa’s career began as a young military officer but climbed through the rungs to the enviable rank of Major General before he retired at a ‘tender’ age of 40 years, even when he was not tired.
“We are happy that General Bajowa is an Ikale son who we are all proud of,” Olatunji said in the message. “He is a notable nation builder, a man so passionate about the unity of this country, Nigeria.”
Olatunji calls on all Ikale sons and daughters to paint all the towns and villages in Ikaleland red today to celebrate this great Nigerian who served and still serving his fatherland in many capacities.
“General Bojowa has helped a lot of Ikales in diverse ways and we still look up to him as we all work together to develop Ikaleland. We are happy to identify with you sir on this great occasion. We once again celebrate your invaluable contributions to the unity and development of Ikaleland in particular and that of Nigeria and Ondo State, in general.”
Having retired at the prime age of 40 years from the Nigerian Armed Forces, Gen. Joseph Olu Bajowa has held various top positions in the Federal Civil Service, Parastatals and top agencies of government, having ventured into business, politics and broadcasting (as the owner of Awawa Radio in Ondo State,)
