Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Traffic Diversion Begins Monday
Major diversions on sections between Berger and Kara Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will commence on Monday, to allow for reconstruction work.
The Director, Federal Highways, Southwest, Funsho Adebiyi, made this known on Thursday as he appealed for patience and understanding of road users and residents.
The construction work on the specified part of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, he said, would be completed by December 15.
Adebiyi spoke when he led a delegation of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing officials and traffic regulatory agencies to inspect the expressway.
While imploring road users to comply with traffic rules, he pointed out that major lanes had been rehabilitated to curb gridlock.
He said efforts were being made to ensure that the construction was completed on time.
He said in the bid to prevent gridlock, provision had been made for enough towing vehicles to clear any vehicle that might breakdown during the period.
The Lagos Sector Commander of the Federal Roads Safety Corps, FRSC, Hygenus Omeje, also explained that his command would work in harmony with other agencies to ensure there was no gridlock.
