Ninety grueling minutes and the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s players stood still like the ramrods. No movement as they all buried their heads in their hands – some crying some gnashing their teeth as Thomas Partey’s 11th minute strike was all the Black Stars of Ghana needed to end Nigeria’s dream of featuring at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The supporters club members also lost their voices as they all look in awe and hands akimbo. “Nigeria is out of the World Cup. These Eagles do not deserve a World Cup ticket,”  are some of the cacophony voices at the Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola Statium, Abuja on Thursday.

“The Nigeria Football Federation Board members should just put in their resignation if they know what’s best for them,” says a Facebook user after the match. I have never seen a Nigeria side so disorganized like this in the last 40 years.

Ghana took the lead in the 11th minute with the first strike while Nigeria managed to level up through a 22 minute penalty, lovely taken by William Troost-Ekong.

Afterward the game turned to a ding-dong show as the Nigerians started gasping for breath.
