Billionaire Sokoto businessman, Alhaji Tukur Sabaru, has been abducted by some yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
The Sokoto State Police Command made the shocking announcement on Tuesday, through its Public Relations Officer, Mr Muhammad Sadiq, saying that the gangsters raided Sabaru community, a suburb of Sokoto, Monday night, and took the business mogul away.
Sadiq said police received distress calls through Kwannawa police station on the incident and a team was promptly sent to the scene of the crime.
”Investigation revealed that armed hoodlums in their numbers attacked the residence of Sabaru, of Sabaru Village via Dange Shuni Local Government Area,” Sadiq said.
”Reports gathered that the hoodlums shot sporadically and abducted Sabaru.
”Two women were injured by stray bullets on their arms and they are responding to treatment in the hospital.”
Sadiq further announced that the police were in hot pursuit of the criminals and would do all within its powers to rescue Sabaru unhurt and bring his abductors to justice.
