Pirisola Installed as Anglican Bishop

The Right Reverend Olaoluwa Oluseyi Pirisola has been installed as the Anglican Bishop of the Diocese on the Coast in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The installation and enthronement ceremony, which was performed by the  Most Reverend Nicholas D.Okoh, Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), took place at the Episcopal seat of the Cathedral Church of Ebenezer, Ilutitun, on Saturday.

While taking the oath of his canonical obedience, Bishop Pirisola said: “I, Olaoluwa Oluseyi Pirisola, Bishop on the Coast do promise to respect, maintain and defend the rights, privilege and the liberty of this church and Diocese and to rule therein with truth, justice and charitt , not lording it over God’s heritage, but showing myself in all things an example to the flock. I will pat due canonical obedience to the Primate and Metropolitan Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion and his successor in office in all things lawful and honest. So help me God. Amen.”

Bishop Pirisola is the fourth Bishop of the diocese which was carved out of the old Ondo Anglican diocese.

He took over the leadership of the diocese from the late Bishop J. Ogunele who passed on recently.

Dignitaries who attended the installation include the deputy chancellor of the diocese, Senator Boluwaji Kunlere, Gen. Olu Bajowa (rtd), traditional rulers, member representing Okitipitupa Constituency One in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Akintomide Akinrogunde, Otunba Oluseyi Aba, and a host of others.
