I will defect to PDP only if… – Kwankwaso
BY ABIODUN NEJO
Former Kano State Governor, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso, has said that whatever is collectively agreed upon by members of the new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) within the All Progressives Congress, APC, will inform his decision as to whether to defect to the PDP or stay with APC.
Kwankwaso, who spoke in Ado Ekiti on Monday as a guest of Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of PDP Governor’s Forum, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, spoke against the insinuations that he had dumped the APC.
A statement from Fayose’s Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, said the APC senator seized the opportunity to address the Northern Community resident in the state, urging them to live in peace with their hosts and exercise their civic duties during the election.
According to Kwankwaso, “elections should not be seen as war. The votes of the people must be made to count”.
He also decried the spate of killings in some parts of the country, noting that it was the responsibility of the government to secure the lives and properties of the citizens.
In his remarks, Governor Fayose thanked the senator for the visit, saying peace was imperative for the unity and corporate existence of the country.
The governor lambasted the Federal Government for not being able to curtail the killings going on in the country.
