The victory makes Brazil the second nation to win the FIFA U-17 World Cup on home soil after defeating fellow South America, Mexico 2-1 at the Estadio Bezerraro Stadium.
Mexico’s Bryan Gonzalez scored the first goal of the encounter at the 66th minutes with assist from Eugenio Pizzuto
The host nation equalized 18 minutes later through penalty after the VAR confirmed that foul has been committed when a penalty was awarded to Brazil .

After 90 minutes of no clear winner , referee added seven minutes extra time with Lazaro of Brazil scoring the winning goal at 93rd minutes while Yan Cuoto gave the assist .
Coincidentally, eight years ago, Mexico became the first host nation to win the FIFA U-17 World Cup
Furthermore, Brazil’s victory was a sweet revenge against El Tri when they lost 3-0 to the latter at the final of FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru with Carlos Vela opening the scoring sheet.
Earlier in the day, France defeated Netherland to win the Bronze medal in the third place match.
