Gunmen Kidnap Oba’s Wife, Daughters in Ondo, Demand N100m Ransom
Gunmen have abducted the wife, children and driver of a first class traditional ruler in Ondo State. Oba Rufus Olugboyega Akinrinmade, the Orunja of Odigbo town, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, is faced with the dilemma of how to rescue his almost entire family members from the den of the kidnappers. It was gathered that the victims were kidnapped on Ikare-Owo Expressway in Oba Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area of the state.
The traditional ruler, who confirmed the incident to our Correspondent, said the abductors had contacted the family and had demanded a sum of N100m as ransom.
The monarch’s wife, Regina Akinrinmade, her two daughters including the driver were kidnapped on Saturday at Oba Akoko on their way to Akungba Akoko to visit another child, a student of Adekunle Ajasin University.
The Oba said the matter has been reported to the police.
Oba Akinrinmade charged the state police command to intensify efforts at recovering his family members.
