Two-and-a-half hours after President Muhammadu Buhari spoke to Nigerians on how his administration has been handling the COVID-19 outbreak in Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Sunday, announced that the viral infections had shot up from the 97 recorded on Saturday.

The national prevalence of COVID-19, according to NCDC, now stands at 111 having confirmed 14 new cases.

“14 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; nine in Lagos and five in FCT,” the NCDC said

“As of 09:30 pm, 29th of March, there are 111 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with one death.”

Lagos still remained the epicentre of the pandemic with 68 cases, followed by the FCT at 21.
