... on the condition of an apology letter
The Lagos State Government, Wednesday, withdrew charges against, Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and a politician, Babatunde Gbadamosi, who were at the party, against the lockdown order, of the already convicted famous actress, Funke Akindele.
Gbadamosi, his wife and Naira Marley were charged before the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Ogba for attending a birthday bash which contravened the government’s social distancing order to forestall the spread of coronavirus.
The trio were scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday.
As earlier reported, journalists were not allowed into the court.
However, gathering information from the defence counsel, Mr Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, the court had pardoned the three persons on the condition that formal apology letter be directed to the President, Mohammadu Buhari, and the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Recall on Monday, Funke Akindele and her musician husband, JJCSkillz were arraigned and sentenced by the State Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, for defying the Federal and State directive of social distancing, when she organised a party which according to the video that surfaced online had more than 20 persons in attendance.
