Following the decision of the United States of America to halt funding to the World Health Organisation, the body, on Wednesday, said it was reviewing the impact it would have.
The organisation also said it was looking to other means of filling the financial “gaps”.
In a virtual news conference, WHO chief, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said, “WHO is reviewing the impact on our work of any withdrawal of US funding and will work with our partners to fill any financial gaps we face and to ensure our work continues uninterrupted.”
Ghebreyesus who revealed this in Geneva said the organisation will seek for funds from its partner even as they help the world in fighting this pandemic.
