China Chamber of Commerce Donates PPE to Nigeria Police

The China General Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria, Thursday, donated some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Nigeria Police Force to boost the country’s the ongoing efforts at curtailing and containing the COVID-19 pandemic.

The vital equipment, comprised of 40,000 Disposable Surgical Masks, 500 Disposable Medical Protective Suite and one infra-red Thermal Imaging Thermometer Unit. They were presented at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

While receiving the PPE, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu, who was represented by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, thanked the China General Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria for the kind gesture.

The IGP urged other corporate and private groups in the country to emulate the worthy gesture of the Chinese group, assuring that the PPE will be distributed to police personnel at the frontline of the battle against the spread of the virus in Nigeria.

In his remarks, the President, China General Chamber of Commerce, Engr. Ye Shuijin, stated that his organisation, made up of all major Chinese enterprises in Nigeria, acknowledges the frontline roles and importance of the Police in ensuring an enabling environment for ease of doing business in the country. He assured of his the Chamber’s commitment to helping Nigeria combat the debilitating pandemic , as well as protecting lives and property in the country.

Also in attendance were:​ the Force Medical Officer, DCP Paul Laki and other Senior Police Officers; Cui Guangzhen, Director General China Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria, Senior Colonel Liu Yougxuan, Chinese Defense Attache to Nigeria, among others.
