Ondo State Governpor Rotimi Akeredolu has picked a former representative of the state on the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Lucky Ayedatiwa as his running mate in the October 10, gubernatorial election.
The governor picked Ayedatiwa from the oil-rich Ilaje Local Government Area of the southern part of the state.
Like the embattled deputy governor, Hon Agboola Ajayi, Ayedatiwa is also of the old Ilaje council and he is expected to run with Akeredolu in the October 10 election if his name was not substituted before August 18, 2020 deadline by INEC.
Akeredolu estranged former deputy, Hon Ajayi had since defected to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and contested for the party’s governorship primary but lost to Eyitayo Jegede SAN.
