Lagos Schools To Re-open September 21 -Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Saturday, drove nails into the coffin of all speculations and rumours that had been making the rounds on the re-opening of schools in the state.

Addressing a press conference, the governor announced that tertiary institutions should reopen on Monday, September 14, 2020, while primary and secondary schools are to resume on Monday, September 21, 2020.

But the date for primary and secondary schools’ re-opening is tentative.

The Governor shut all schools in the start in March to curb the spread of COVID-19 and flatten its curve.

“I am pleased to announce that our tertiary institution will be allowed to reopen from September 14, 2020, all our tertiary institutions,” Sanwo-Olu announced during the press briefing.

But he added the caveat that the decision would be “subject to review of our ongoing modelling and what procedure comes out from the ministry of health.”

Though there has been a slight drop in the number of infections, Lagos remains the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in the country with the highest cases of infection.
