Why I Didn’t, Can’t Marry Rita Dominic, Now 45 Years Old –Jim Iyke

Inside the tube, popular Nigerian actor Jim Iyke and actress Rita Dominic are lovebirds. Everyone thought they would eventually exchange the nuptial vows. But that was never to be. It ended in mere wishes and dreams.

In Nollywood movies, you would not see a Jim Iyke without seeing Rita Dominic—they always acted romantic scenes together.

But their real lives outside of the screen have proved otherwise—while Rita is still single and awaiting marriage, Jim Iyke is a single father of two.

So, why didn’t he marry his TV lover, Rita Dominic?

“Rita and I met when I was just beginning to embrace fame, and the comforts that came with it. The laurels, the distraction, even the destruction. And Rita is not the kind of woman that hangs around a lot. We were very deep with each other. We still are great-friends though we don’t speak constantly. As a matter of fact, it may surprise you that we haven’t spoken to each other in over two years,” Jim Iyke revealed in an interview with BroadwayTV.

“But when we meet, we are cordial,  and respectful. There is that deep-rooted thing of a man or woman you shared something with. I don’t think Rita at that time was looking at longevity, truthfully. Don’t forget, I was the kid with the crazy afro, ready to start a fight anywhere. My life was about having a good time and as many conquests as possible. So, who wants that kind of guy?”

Can he still marry her since she is still single?

Jim said, “I don’t think so, we come from the same circle, she knows too much of what I know and I think I know too much of what she knows. You need that opposite attraction to survive the kind of life I live now. I want to come in and hear about your day. I don’t want to repeat what I have done with you. I need to learn new things from you, I need you to teach me new tricks, and I need to, at least, pretend to be interested in what you are talking about in the evening. A dead giveaway is the fact that I do know what you are talking about, I can fathom and predict it and I can end it, I don’t want that kind of life.   I want someone that is entirely different from my world, someone that can bring me to order. The amazing relationship I had before now didn’t work for special reasons and it is obviously because of that. I don’t want a drama queen, I just need a woman that will come to me with something different all the time, I don’t want a predictable life,” he quipped.

Kemiashefonlovehaven gathered that, Rita seems to have been disappointed several times by men and must have made up her mind to remain single even as she has approached her mid 40s.

This was the marriage rumour in 2019 and we all thought the pretty actress would have gotten married by now.

Though she admitted in an interview two years ago that she would not be forced by societal pressure to get married, there were indications in 2019 that the actress would get married to her lover, who she refused unveiling to the public.

Then, Rita Dominic’s fiance was said to hail from the South East of Nigeria and he was a well-connected businessman who owns a publishing and Entertainment Platform.

Really, Rita has not been so lucky with guys especially one that would walk her down the aisle.

Recall that she revealed in an interview on TVC that she almost got married but called it off.

During the 2018 interview on TVC, she said: “I almost married someone. We were there. We were at that point. It didn’t work out and I’m happy it didn’t work out because I saw the signs.

“You know how you see the signs and you just ignore it hoping the person will change. Look, a grown man and a grown woman cannot change. They can find a way to live with each other and respect each other’s feelings, but to change a grown person is difficult.”

The pretty screen star said when in a relationship, couples should at best find a way to live with each other, instead of trying to change negative traits, adding that a grown man cannot change.

When asked by the TV host that as Africans, “we feel that a woman’s success isn’t complete until she’s married and with children, that what has been the pressure concerning being married and why hasn’t it happened?”

The Mbaise, Imo state-born actress said: “At the end of the day, if I’m going to do it, i’m doing it for myself not that the society wants me to do it. I always will still say; I will marry the man of my dreams and not the man the society dreams for me.

“Society feels there’s something wrong with you if you’re a certain age and you’re not married. What if it’s the society something is wrong with? For forcing someone to do what they don’t want to do?
