Power pass power! So says the common saying in local parlance. This seems to be apt to describe the developing story in Edo State where the embattled Deputy Governor, Mr. Philip Shaibu, held out the olive branch, Thursday, begging his boss for total forgiveness.

At a press briefing in Benin, the Edo State capital, Shaibu, the ‘penitent’ Deputy Governor profusely begged his principal, Governor Godwin Obakeki, for forgiveness over their political differences, a situation that had spiked the state’s political temperature in the past few weeks.

Pointedly, Shaibu begged Obaseki to forgive and forget.

“I use this medium to appeal to Mr Governor, if there is anything that I don’t know that I have done, please forgive me so that we can develop our state together,” he said remorsefully.

“We have just one year to go. We have been the envy of the entire country. So, Mr Governor, if there is anything you feel that I have done, please I am sorry. I need us to work together to finish well and strong.”
