Edo Election: ‘Ize-Iyamu Will Return to Pulpit, Oga Adam Go Back To Garden of Eden’— Twitter Taunts Oshiomhole, Tinubu

The outcome of the September 19 gubernatorial polls in Edo state, which Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged winner, has triggered series of memes on social media, targeted at the suspended APC (All Progressives Congress) national chairman and APC national leader, Bola Tinubu.

The re-elected governor, Obaseki, had a well documented scuffle with his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole, with the former not ready to bow to the whims of the former Nigeria Labour Congress President, a fight that later became the “no to godfatherism” mantra.

It will be recalled that Obaseki was disqualified from the APC primaries by his estranged godfather before he sought re-election under PDP platform.

He polled 307,955 votes across 18 local government areas while Osagie Ize-Iyamu, his main challenger and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), got 223,619 votes.

Twitter was set agog with memes mocking Oshiomhole, Ize-Iyamu and Tinubu over the Edo governorship elections.
