All is set for the grand finale of the biggest reality TV show in Nigeria, the Big Brother Naija. A show that has run for 71 days non-stop with lots of drama from the housemates, that has spiralled into the social media space.
This year finalists comprise of Laycon, Vee, Neo, Dorathy and the Port Harcourt light skinned girl in Nengi.
The social media was continually set agog with happenings in the house, starting conversations about feminism, sexism, vile behaviours and many other talking points that are rated 18+.
Over the course of the show, one of the housemates, Laycon has gained overwhelming fans from across the country and even beyond, with his social media accounts capping beyond a million followers in his stay in the house.
There is every indication that Laycon would win, or maybe Nengi, or Vee, or… ; the truth is, we will never know till the dapper, fashionable Ebuka, host of the show, announces the winner of the N85 million in prizes.
Icons as Laycon fans are called are optimistic of their favourite housemate. They have bamboozled the votes with their numbers. Laycon, always, when it comes to voting never comes close to the bottom three, he always comes miles ahead of everyone. People have mooted the idea that his fanbase is the craziest, almost fanatic in nature.
Hands are folded, tension is high, everyone is waiting to hear the “champion” song. Who will it be? Laycon, the most used word on social media in Nigeria for the past 71 days according to social media data analytics? Vee, the high-spirited lady with the British accent? Nengi, the pretty, fair, emotional lady? Neo, the smart dude, who many think is the dark horse? Or maybe, Dorathy, the lady who got social media talking because of her bosom?
