Kamala Harri’s Campaign Harvests $1 bn in donations
Reuters has reported that Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign and related political committees rakes a staggering $1 billion in donations since she became candidate of the Democratic Party in July.
The US Vice President’s momentum has been unassailable since she replaced President Joe Biden as the Democratic Party’s nominee on July 21, 2024.
Reuters reports that dollars have been flowing into the campaign coffers and affiliated political action committees and Democratic Party “at an unprecedented pace”.
She raised $25 million on the day she was named the candidate, and had amassed $500 million in about a month against Trump’s $404 million..
On the other hand, former President and candidate of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, continues to lag behind raising $130 million in August, leaving $295 million cash at hand at the end of the month.
The race to November 5.remains close with Kamala Harris’ lead nationally narrowing. The race is extremely tight in several battle ground states.
The money haul reflect donors’ enthusiasm going into the Nov. 5 election, the source said, and will be used on advertising, operations in battleground states and staff.
