In the wake of the forthcoming presidential elections in the United States of America, the president, Donald Trump seeking a re-election into the oval office, took time to acknowledge a campaign parade organised for him in Onitsha, Nigeria.
“A parade for me in Nigeria, a great honour,” the US president tweeted as he reposted a video of the rally.
With several people wearing white and blue uniform, there were several United States banners and placards with different inscriptions such as, “President Trump: America Needs A Man Like You”, ” Make America Great Again”, alongside the United States of America flag.
Marching through the streets, there were choruses ringing the name of the eccentric president, many declaring a second term in office.
However, in foresight, Trump reelection may mean stringent policies that would stifle the migration of Nigerians to America, which has already kicked off.
Just about month ago, the Trump administration proposed guidelines that could restrict some international students, including those from Nigeria, from admission of more than two-year period, even though the policy is yet to see the light of the day, a reelection may put paid to the activation of the policy.
It is important to note that since his succession as the President of the biggest country in the world, he has become even more popular with Nigerians., with many religious undertones firing up the likeness.
