Osun State chapter of the Action Alliance (AA) has condemned the recent attack on the state Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, describing it as wicked act by enemies of progress.
The party noted that the attack on Oyetola during the #EndSARS protest was carried out by disgruntled elements whose mission was to cause disaffection in the state.
The state chairman of the party, Mr Adetunji Olubunmi in a statement issued on Tuesday said the party was in support of agitation by those calling for an end to police brutality but against vandalization of public and private property which was done by hoodlums who highjacked the #EndSARS protest.
He decried the attack on Oyetola and some public office holders who were attacked during the protest, just as he berated the vandalization of properties of well meaning individuals in the state.
The AA chairman said Governor Oyetola did not deserve such treatment, having identified with the protesters from the initial stage of the protest.
He called for proper investigations into the attack, stressing that those involved in the dasterdly act should be made to face the wrath of the law.
He also hailed Governor Oyetola for setting up the judicial panel of inquiry on police brutality, saying the action of the governor shows his love for the people, including the downtrodden members of the society.
