Media giant and a former governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, has paid a glowing tribute to the memory of Prince Tony Momoh, journalist, author and former Minister of Information and Culture, who died in Abuja, also on Monday.
Prince Momoh, who served as Information Minister under Nigeria’s former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, between 1986 and 1990, passed on after a brief illness at the age of 81.
Reacting to Momoh’s demise, Aremo Osoba lamented that Nigeria has lost “a consummate journalist”.
“We have lost a consummate journalist,” said the former Ogun State Governor, himself a quintessential journalist. “He was a strong and powerful member of intellectuals in the media.
“Great Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe gave him the sobriquet of “Lawyer-journalist” and he lived up to the nickname.”
Osoba described the late Auchi Prince as “serious minded, deep in his thoughts and writings, through which he left an indelible mark in the media world. God bless his soul.”
