Tension in Ibadan as Sunday Igboho’s House Is Burnt
A twist occurred in the Igangan, Ibarapa security saga early Tuesday as the Ibadan home of the protagonist, Sunday Igboho was razed down by unknown arsonists.
Reports from the ancient town indicate that the fire started around 3am on Tuesday.
The fire incident comes amid Igboho’s quit notice to herdsmen in Igangan, Igbarapa North local government area of Oyo state, after accusing them of being behind the kidnapping and other criminal activities in the area. The move eventually led to violence in Igangan as the house of Seriki Fulani,
The report stated that the house is located in the Soka area of Ibadan adding that it is still unclear who burnt the house and why it was burnt.
The Yoruba activist warned Fulani herdsmen to keep off the southwest zone saying, enough is enough on the killing of Yoruba people. He said the southwest zone is now a no-go area for armed herdsmen to perpetrate evil any longer.
From the photos seen on social media, several valuables worth millions were destroyed in the house.
It was gathered that fire fighters from the Oyo State Fire Service arrived at the scene few hours after the fire started.
Sunday Igboho is yet to react to the development.
