Kaduna Airport Abduction: Troops Rescue 10 Persons
Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued the ten people who were kidnapped by bandits from the Kaduna International Airport staff quarters two weeks ago.
The victims were abducted by bandits from the junior staff quarters of the airport at Ifira village in Igabi local government area on March 6th and taken to an unknown destination.
Confirming the release of the victim at a news conference, the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan says that they were rescued by troops on Wednesday afternoon.
He also said that the victims after their release were taken to the hospital for medical attention after which they will be reunited with their families.
Aruwan however says that Precise details of the rescue location cannot be provided at this time due to operational expediency.
Meanwhile, the convoy of the Emir of Birnin Gwari in Kaduna state, Alhaji Zubairu Maigwari has been attacked by bandits.
According to a statement by Mr. Aruwan, the official vehicle of the Emir was shot by bandits at about 4:30 PM on Monday around the Zonkoro axis of the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road, within Chikun local government area.
Aruwan says only the Emir’s driver and his orderly, a Police Inspector were in the vehicle, they were on their way to Kaduna when the incident occurred.
The commissioner further disclosed that no life was lost.
