AbdulRasaq Nominates 24-Year-Old #EndSARS Representative As Commissioner

The governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq has forwarded the names of eight commissioner nominees to the Kwara State House of Assembly for screening.

One surprising name in the list which has drawn mixed reactions is 24-year-old Kaosarah Adeyi, a former vice president of the Students Union of the University of Ilorin and an #EndSARS panelist.

Several reactions have trailed the inclusion of Adeyi as a commissioner designate, with many saying the minimum age to be in that position is 25 years.

In the disclosure of the list to the House at the plenary, the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi, said the Governor choice of nominees are: Aliyu Kora-Sabi from Baruten Local Government area; Raji Razaq, Ekiti; Fatima Arinola-Lawal, Ilorin East, and Saadah Maddibbo Kawu, Ilorin South.

The rest include, Kaosarah Adeyi, Ilorin West; Aliyu Muhammad-Saifudeen, Kaiama; Sulaiman Rotimi Iliasu, Moro and Wahab Femi Agbaje from Offa.

The governor said the selection was compliant with relevant sections of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The speaker, thereafter, directed the nominees to submit 35 copies of their credentials to the office of the Clerk of the House before the close of work on Wednesday. Danladi later fixed their screening for Thursday.
