Super Eagles Qualify For AFCON 2022 After Lesotho, Sierra Leone Goalless Draw
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations before kicking a ball after Sierra Leone were held by Lesotho on Saturday.
Nigeria will become the 15th country to qualify for Africa’s foremost football championship.
All the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone needed in Saturday’s encounter in Maseru was a win to give them a chance of qualifying for next year’s AFCON to be hosted by Cameroon.
But a lack of goals means, the three other countries in Lesotho, Benin Republic and Sierra Leone would have to wait till the final games to be sure of a place at the championship.
